Even though the 2021 STEM Summit is over, you can watch recordings of most of the sessions until August 31, 2021. Make sure you are logged in to SCHED, then click on the session you are interested in. You will see a yellow button that says "Open Zoom" which will open a new tab in your browser with the video.
Computational thinking can be developed in elementary aged students through the Standards for Mathematical Practice. Students use strategies and models to compute with multiplication and division, but do we emphasize the thinking being used? Let's make the computation of whole numbers more thoughtful.
